Frequently asked questions

How are tube benders scored on TubeBenderReviews?

Every machine is rated on a transparent 100-point system across 14 categories β€” value, diameter, bend angle, stress/materials, dies, mandrel, S-bend, upgrades, warranty, the USA-manufacturing claim, origin disclosure, and more. Each category uses fixed, published rules, so any score can be reproduced by hand, and every number links to the manufacturer document it came from.

How is value for money calculated?

We add up the capability points a machine earns (out of 67 possible), divide by its complete-system price (frame, dies, power, and stand), and score capability-per-$1,000 on a fixed, published scale. A cheaper machine that still does a lot scores high; an expensive one that doesn't scores low.

What happens when a manufacturer doesn't publish a spec?

That category scores 0. We never guess, infer, or assume undocumented specs β€” if it isn't published or documented for that machine, it doesn't earn points.

Can I see the exact math and sources behind a score?

Yes. Open any review and expand β€œHow this score was earned” to see every category's points, exactly how it was scored, how that machine did, and the cited source for the underlying data.

Is TubeBenderReviews independent β€” doesn't RogueFab own it?

Full disclosure: this site is published by Joseph Gambino, founder of Rogue Fabrication, which makes RogueFab benders. We don't hide that. What keeps it honest is the method β€” every machine, RogueFab included, is scored by the same fixed, published rules, and every point shows its math and cites its source, so you can check any result yourself. See our About & Disclosures page.

A spec looks wrong β€” how do I get it corrected?

Please tell us. We welcome anyone β€” a manufacturer or a shopper β€” to submit a review request if any scored spec doesn't match the manufacturer's current published data, and we'll correct and re-cite it. IMPORTANT: we score and cite MANUFACTURER-PUBLISHED data ONLY. We do not use third-party tests, forum results, or other reviews (that opens a can of worms we deliberately stay out of), so a correction must point to the manufacturer's own published spec. Send requests through the contact form on our About page.
